Q&A with Emily Daccarett

Emily Daccarett is a musician and fashion designer that graduated from Parisian Instituto Marangoni. She strives to create a flow between the two, viewing textiles and sound as equal and symbiotic artistic mediums. She describes her style as “if Blondie and David Lynch had a baby.”

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOUR BANDMATES WHEN YOU MET?

I thought “Omg how are these insanely talented musicians playing with me?” We were also friends  before, so it is a lot fun rehearsing and playing together.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY PLAYING SHOWS?

We didn’t have much time to play live gigs together due to the pandemic. Our first live gig was in  November 2019! I can’t wait to play with them again.

WHAT ARTIST WOULD BE YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?

Lana Del Rey!

WHAT SONG ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF AND WHY?

Right now, I’m really proud of ‘Fading Memories,’ my latest single which just came out on March 18th. I  worked on my new album ‘Yours Always’ during lockdown, which gave me a lot of time to really sit with  my emotions. It allowed me to feel comfortable being completely vulnerable with my writing and ‘Fading Memories’ is the heart of that album.

What are some of your non-musical influences?

Some of my non-musical influences are David Lynch, Federico Fellini, Jean Luc-Godard, Yves Saint  Laurent, and Helmut Newton.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO GAS STATION ORDER?

Goldfish snacks or Sour Patch candy

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Embrace being different, it will make life so interesting!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR?

Some of my goals for this year is to start producing short films centered around my music. I’m also a  fashion designer, so coming out with a couple capsule collections as well!
