Q&A with Ivy Gold

Contemporary blues rock band Ivy Gold answered some questions for us!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOUR BANDMATES WHEN YOU MET?

Oh we had a strong connection right away! When you find the right people to work with you feel it in your heart. I always make sure that my musicians are goodhearted, true and authentic.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY PLAYING SHOWS?

I love to remember these shows where the audience just follows us along and they dive into the music, have fun, dance and really enjoy themselves.

WHAT ARTIST WOULD BE YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?

To be honest, I would love to work with Joe Bonamassa – that would be a dream come true!

WHAT SONG ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF AND WHY?

That is really hard to answer because I am so proud of all of the songs. This is our debut album and we worked really hard for it for quite some time. All our songs are unique and special to me … “Shine On” is a song that I truly love, it is just such a happy song!

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO GAS STATION ORDER?

Ice Cream and gum 🙂

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR NON-MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

I do get many inspirations, song ideas and influences from traveling and seeing different places. Also just being with people, talking and hanging out, is a good way for me but also just my own personal life, things that I encounter, handle and deal with. Many times I dig very deep inside of myself for my creations.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Don’t take life too seriously, have fun with everything you do…. and don’t forget to laugh!

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR?

We are still working on promoting our debut album “Six Dusty Winds” which is out now worldwide. And of course, we want to go on tour as soon as possible. So we are planning on some shows hopefully this fall, depending on the current pandemic situation. So let’s keep our fingers crossed that live shows will be allowed!
