Q&A with Reaven

Romeo Bassi, lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of Reaven, did a quick Q&A with us! Based out of Paris, Reaven bring you pop rock with a fresh touch of electro.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOUR BANDMATES WHEN YOU MET?

I was like: “Okay… I’m gonna share my life with these guys… They rock!! I hope there are no serial killers in the crew, ahah!!”

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY PLAYING SHOWS?

I guess it was when I was quite young, we were 17 years old, and for the first time during a show in France, people started to sing the lyrics of one of our compositions, all along… It was a magical feeling, I almost cried on stage!!

WHAT ARTIST WOULD BE YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?

Paul McCartney… Huge fan of The Beatles… always and forever!

WHAT SONG ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF AND WHY?

I think the very first I composed at the piano when I was nine years old, or the first one I composed with my guitar and singing when I was eleven. Just because it was the very beginning. It will always remain special. Apart from this, it’s very hard to choose because there are so many special moments and memories connected with the songs I wrote, different feelings and emotions.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO GAS STATION ORDER?

Coffee, something to eat and… Coffee again!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR NON-MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry with my favorite book of all time “The Little Prince”, Charles Baudelaire for poetry, Tim Burton for movies, and many others.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Trust yourself, always. No one knows you better than yourself. Make mistakes, overcome them, try again. Repeat.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR?

Releasing our new EP before releasing our postponed album “For Tomorrow”. Give concerts and tour again. Travel. Live.
