Q&A with Cathedral in Flames

Prague-based Gothic rock band Cathedral in Flames filled out a quick Q&A for us!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOUR BANDMATES WHEN YOU MET?

Phil Lee Fall: You’re looking cool as fuck, man.

Gatsby: Seeing Phil… He’s a weirdo and I want to know him better.

Seeing Ambra: what a cute girl (she was 13 years old that time).

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY PLAYING SHOWS?

Phil Lee Fall: Some years we’ve been playing the old church St. Martin at the Wall. We set up the lights, smoke machine and torches. And somebody called the cops to stop the show. And they stayed for the rest of the show and bought a merch.

WHAT ARTIST WOULD BE YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?

Phil Lee Fall: Johnny Cash

Gatsby: Wayne Hussey

WHAT SONG ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF AND WHY?

Phil Lee Fall: 1898- our first love song, just me and Gatsby on piano. What a challenge!

Gatsby: I am proud of each song. They are all part of my life and part of my inner feelings.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO GAS STATION ORDER?

Phil Lee Fall: 2 bottles of Jack Daniels. No Coca-Cola.

Gatsby: Pack of cigarettes

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR NON-MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

Phil Lee Fall: Jerusalem by Alan Moore.

Gatsby: The sea.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Phil Lee Fall: Live faster!

Gatsby: Probably the winning numbers of the lottery.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR?

Phil Lee Fall: Promote our last album “Hang Me High & Bury Me Deep,” and finally make some great after-covid shows.
