Q&A with Gorethrone

Grand Rapids based metal band Gorethrone filled out a quick Q&A for us!

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOUR BANDMATES WHEN YOU MET?

My first impression was that there was no ego or anything, they where just all about the music and making good songs.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY PLAYING SHOWS?

It would probably be our last show that we did at someones house. On a couple of the songs the crowd was moshing to a few of our songs and that is a really good feeling.

WHAT ARTIST WOULD BE YOUR DREAM COLLABORATION?

Our dream collaboration would probably be Chelsea Grin. We have all been fans of them forever and we get a lot of inspiration from them as well.

WHAT SONG ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF AND WHY?

Acid Bath is our best song. We really put a bunch of different elements in there from talking parts to fast riffs and catchy choirs.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO GAS STATION ORDER?

Probably going simple with Twirlers or Circus Peanuts can’t go wrong with them.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR NON-MUSICAL INFLUENCES?

I read a lot and that’s where the song Big High War God came from when I was reading the Lord of the Rings books I though of the riff of that song.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO YOUR YOUNGER SELF?

Not to put so much effort into my lead playing and work on more song writing and writing full songs not just riffs.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR THE YEAR?

We are currently writing songs for our full length album we are hoping to release latter this year, and we have a couple shows coming up later this year.
